Walter James Grass

Lance Corporal Walter James Grass, S/1424, 8th Battalion, Rifle Brigade (The Prince Consort's Own) died aged 28.  He was killed in action in Flanders on Friday 30th July 1915.

Lance Corporal Walter Grass was the son of Mrs Eliza Grass, 64 Bury Road, Brandon, Suffolk.  He was born in Brandon, Suffolk, lived in Brandon and enlisted at Reading, Berks.

Remembered with honour at YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.

 

 The Ypres Memorial (Menin Gate), Belgium, bears the name of Walter Grass.
